Boston, MA – September 15, 2021 —Apptopia, the leader in real-time competitive intelligence, today announced the appointment of James Lasson as Senior Vice President of Marketing. Lasson has been building and leading marketing and revenue generation teams for brands, startups and high-growth B2B SaaS companies for more than 20 years. In his new role, Lasson is focused on building out the marketing team and driving scalable growth for the company.
“I’m thrilled to have joined the Apptopia team at this exciting time for the company,” said Lasson. Now I’m looking forward to the challenges of scaling our efforts, reducing customer acquisition costs and unlocking the potential of the Apptopia brand.”
Earlier in his career, as a partner at a digital agency, Lasson was instrumental in developing and implementing integrated growth marketing strategies for tech and B2B SaaS, as well as consumer brands like Zappos, eBay, Capital One Bank, Kohls and Expedia. Lasson also led marketing globally at True Fit, a Boston based high-growth B2B eCommerce SaaS startup. Prior to joining Apptopia, Lasson was VP Performance Marketing at TraceLink.
“We’re continuing to build out an experienced leadership team with additions like James, who have the expertise to take our company into a new era of growth,” said Apptopia CEO Jonathan Kay. “James' ability to build high performance teams and execute on data-driven marketing strategies through a variety of channels will no doubt have a noticeable impact on our bottom line.”
Lasson has a degree in International Business and Economics from Brigham Young University. Traveling and experiencing the outdoors with his wife and four children are his favorite things to do. On one of his outdoor adventures he survived (lucky for Apptopia) a 60 foot drop off a cliff while skiing. He still hits the slopes though alongside his other passions of surfing, hiking, biking and scuba diving. If meeting with him in-person, please bring chocolate or Thai food.
