Boston, MA – August 5, 2021 —Apptopia, the leader in real-time competitive intelligence, today announced the appointment of Tom Cummings as Director of Business Development. Cummings brings more than 15 years of experience to the position, having led and managed growth initiatives throughout his career. In his new role, Cummings is focused on acquiring new datasets and growing revenue opportunities through strategic partnership building.
Cummings is a startup and adtech veteran, having served in a variety of roles, including data analysis, research, consulting, client services, product development and account management. His background as a data analyst, in particular, makes him well-positioned to seek out high-quality data partners that will deliver exceptional value to Apptopia’s clients. Most recently, Cummings put all of his experience to the test by founding his own company, which created net new revenue opportunities through unique partnership-led activities.
“I’m really looking forward to leaning into our current relationships and leveraging new ones in order to create superior products for our clients,” said Cummings. “With the right partners, we can advance Apptopia’s offerings and strengthen its position as the leader in app intelligence.”
“We’re fortunate enough to work with top-tier companies already, like Bloomberg, Amazon and Snowflake. With their help, we’re getting people the data they need on the tools they use most,” said Apptopia CEO Jonathan Kay. “Cummings will play a critical role in developing these partnerships, and investing in new ones, so we can continue to provide the highest value to our clients.”
Cummings lives in Plymouth with his wife Biz, and children Olivia and Thomas. He enjoys paddle boarding, expanding his vegetable garden and trying out every life hack he comes across on TikTok. He has a degree in Economics from the University of Vermont, and attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s graduate program in Applied Econometrics.
