We’ve introduced a new level of granularity in our app analytics product for our SDK data - the ability to determine which installed SDKs are active and which are not. Previously our SDK data provided you with the ability to look at any app and see when its SDKs were installed and uninstalled, in addition to the ability to look at a specific SDK company and see its total reach, category penetration, and apps using it. While knowing when SDKs are installed and uninstalled is an important piece of the puzzle, knowing which SDKs are inactive and which are driving growth for the app completes the picture.
Now, all paying Apptopia users can see the SDK’s status as active or inactive, where active means the app has pinged the SDK within the last 7 days. Deep analysis of SDK usage highlights how apps strategically use SDKs to meet performance goals and where they may fall short. For SDK companies, understanding which SDKs are dormant in an app and primed for uninstall gives the sales or mobile marketing team a head start on prospecting and building a custom pitch.
