Do you even lift… your performance metrics? FaceApp did. It was in the gym working on its product muscles. Its latest update includes “an extension that enables its users to open photos from the gallery and other apps in FaceApp easily.” Interoperability is huge, especially for photo/image based apps. This tweak caused FaceApp’s rank to hit #1 in the U.S. on both iOS and Google Play, rising above Amazon on its Prime days.

Who needs protein shakes when you’re a retailer launching same day pickup? No one, that’s who. Really, no one. Protein shakes are not a user acquisition substitute and you should know that. Walmart’s Sam’s Club launched same day pickup in the U.S. on July 11th and saw its downloads swole.

Ease of access is important and Social Networking/Lifestyle app, The Pattern, found that out after two years on the market. Implementing the ability to register/login with Facebook got its downloads pumped, creating a better looking pattern for the publisher.

Are these all the apps that grinded out some massive gains recently? No, certainly not but they are the ones that easily caught my eye. Will This Week in Gainz be a regularly occurring post? Highly unlikely but it may make appearances here and there.
